The release date for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection was inadvertently revealed today via the Xbox mobile app, with the release date listed as September 29, 2025, less than two months from now.
This leak was spotted on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours forum, where a user shared an image from the game’s page on the Xbox app, showing the exact release date, and although this date has not yet been officially announced by the developers, fans are starting to expect a full reveal of the collection’s content soon.
The collection was first announced during the State of Play event held last June, and has since then attracted the attention of fans of the classic series. The collection will include a collection of Mortal Kombat highlights, including the original 1992 game, as well as a Game Boy Advance exclusive.
The collection comes with many features, including:
– Online multiplayer support using Rollback Netcode technology to ensure accurate and smooth gameplay.
– Unlock all secret characters with the push of a button.
– Extensive customization options and access to hidden developer menus to tweak gameplay.
– An interactive documentary that explores the history of the series and includes exclusive interviews with the developers.
– Detailed character profiles and timelines showing the evolution of the narrative between Earthrealm, Outworld, and Edenia during the games’ classic era.
While the leak seems credible, it should be treated with caution until officially confirmed by NetherRealm Studios or the publisher. A date change is not out of the question if there are any changes to the release plan.
