In a move that reflects a major strategic shift in the gaming industry, Sony is preparing to launch its exclusive game Helldivers 2 on the Xbox Series X/S platforms, signaling a radical change in the company’s approach to the concept of exclusivity.
According to well-known leaker NateTheHate, Sony has actual plans to release more of its titles on Xbox in the coming period, although the names of these titles have yet to be revealed. The same source previously accurately predicted the recent Nintendo Direct presentation, giving his leaks a great deal of credibility.
The move suggests that Sony is beginning to reevaluate its exclusivity policy, moving towards a more open approach similar to Microsoft, which has expanded its games to multiple platforms in order to target a wider audience rather than focusing on just one platform.
Among the speculations circulating in the community is that some second-party exclusives such as Stellar Blade and even Lego Horizon Adventures could move to the Nintendo Switch, although there are no confirmations yet about the possibility of launching huge titles such as Horizon Zero Dawn or The Last of Us on Xbox.
On the other hand, Microsoft continues its strategy of porting its titles to Sony’s platforms, with games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Gears of War, and Forza Horizon 5 confirmed to be coming to PlayStation 5. According to recent statistics, Forza Horizon 5 topped the list of best-selling games on PS5 for 2025, a scene that would have been unimaginable a few years ago.
