At Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live, Obsidian Entertainment and Bethesda presented a new trailer for The Outer Worlds 2, the sequel to the popular space satire that returns with an even bigger dose of satire and critique of the capitalist world in a broad sci-fi setting.
The latest demo offered a broader look at the road companions who will help you on your interplanetary adventure. Among them are new characters like Tristian and Niles, each with special missions and a distinctive fighting style, the same system that characterized the first part with characters like the beloved Harvati.
The new experience will introduce a more in-depth Perks/Flaws system with improvements in Gunplay and decision-making options to make the experience richer and more branching than before.
Early reviews from the press have praised the game’s evolution from the first installment released in 2019, cementing its place as one of the most notable modern RPG experiences.
The game will be released on October 29, 2025 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with availability from day one on Xbox Game Pass. The company announced a price reduction from $80 to $70 after a wave of criticism from gamers to be closer to traditional pricing.
