Microsoft on Wednesdayunveiled a complete restructuring of its Game Pass service that includes changing plan names, prices and features in a move that will affect all current subscribers.
The Core and Standard tiers are being eliminated and replaced with three new tiers: Essential for $10 per month (includes 50+ games and access to cloud services). Premium for $15 per month (includes over 200 games with the release of new Xbox games during the first year of release, but no Call of Duty). Ultimate for $30 per month (50% increase from the previous price, includes Ubisoft+ Classics, Fortnite Crew, and 75+ launch day games per year).
PC Game Pass will increase from $12 to $16.50 per month with the addition of Ubisoft+ Classics.

Core subscribers will automatically move to Essential, Standard subscribers will switch to Premium, and Ultimate subscribers will remain on their same plan but at the new price.
Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available for all plans, an expanded library of games for each tier, and Fortnite Crew ($12 per month) is now included for free with Ultimate.
These changes come just a few weeks after Microsoft announced a price increase for the Xbox Series X|S, which has increased by 30-33% since its launch in 2020.
While some believe that adding content such as Ubisoft+ and Fortnite Crew increases the value of the subscription, others believe that the increase is especially large for Ultimate and may make the service less attractive.
