As the end of the year approaches, Sony is rolling out a new update to the PlayStation Plus library, this time including the removal of a slew of games in December 2025, totaling 9 titles across all tiers of the service.
When visiting the Plus page on PlayStation 5, you will notice that the Last Chance to Play section has been updated to include games that will be leaving soon, most notably:
- Battlefield 2042
- Grand Theft Auto III
- Arcade Paradise VR
- Sonic Frontiers
- Forspoken
- Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge
- Firefighting Simulator: The Squad
- Surviving Mars
- Star Trek: The Bridge Crew
As has become the norm in recent months, at least one Battlefield title is removed every month after the launch of Battlefield 6, making the exit of Battlefield 2042 expected.

In addition, the departure of beloved titles like GTA III and Sonic Frontiers may be a disappointment to some gamers, especially given their popularity, while Forspoken, despite its mixed reviews, is a title worth trying for those who haven’t given it a chance before.
Interested players are advised to give these games time before leaving them permanently, as most of them offer story campaigns that can be completed in 20 hours or less, fun side content, and experiences that vary between adventure, action, simulation, and sci-fi
This update comes in conjunction with the addition of Red Dead Redemption to the Plus library in December and the availability of GTA 5 for download this month for subscribers, making December one of the service ‘s strongest months in terms of content.
