With Season 1 set to launch on December 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s Zombies mode is gearing up for a massive expansion that reworks the experience and adds story content and gameplay beyond players’ expectations, and it’s clear that this season will be a turning point in the game’s first year.
The update introduces a full story map called Astra Malorum, where players delve into an area consumed by the Dark Aether and face the new enemy O.S.C.C.A.R Elite, an advanced hostile robot with combat capabilities capable of changing the pace of the encounter. The map supports a new exotic weapon known as LGM-1, as well as a set of traps and secrets that bring the essence of the zombie mode back to its peak.

Season 1 introduces two new maps in Survival mode, starting with Exit 115 at launch and later expanding with Zorya Observatory at mid-season to offer new environments and different challenges that allow players to more quickly complete camo challenges and diverse experiences.
The season sees the return of a host of elements that the community has grown attached to over the years, such as the Mule Kick drink that allows you to carry 3 weapons at the same time, along with the popular field abilities Tesla Storm and Frost Blast, the return of Ammo Mods for deeper and more diverse attack styles, and the update adds 7 new weapons and numerous accessories that open the door to customization.
To help players explore Ashes of the Damned’s story, the update brings a guided mode that helps them walk through the basic steps of the main mission without the need for research or external follow-up, making the storytelling experience more intuitive and streamlined.
Combining the essence of the classics with the spirit of modern development, Season 1 is a true stepping stone to the future of Black Ops 7’s zombie mode, offering an expansive experience that promises to be the best in the series for years to come.
