Techland released Dying Light: The Beast last September and it quickly became one of the highlights of the decade-long series. The game brought Kyle Crane back to the forefront and introduced a richly detailed open world with an ending that left the door open for more to come.
Now, new indications suggest that Techland may have already begun work on a new experience within the Dying Light universe.
According to a new job posting spotted within Techland, the studio is looking for a Lead Online Game Designer, specifically to work on:
Developing the framework and architecture for a new online experience in the Dying Light series
This description was enough to fuel speculation among gamers, especially after the huge success of Dying Light: The Beast.
Officially, Dying Light: The Beast was not labeled as Dying Light 3, but Techland itself internally viewed it as a natural extension of the series, and the game, one of the highest-rated games of 2025, concluded with an ending that clearly suggested that the story was not over yet.
So far there is no official confirmation about the nature of the new project, is it a new main part, a spin-off game, or a completely separate online experience? The studio has remained silent, but previous statements from series director Tymon Smektala have confirmed that there are many ideas in development within the Dying Light universe.
Technically, all Dying Light games since Part 1 in 2015 have relied on online and co-op elements, but the emphasis in the job announcement on a new online experience is what draws attention and may indicate a different or broader direction than what we are used to.
For now, all of this information remains speculative, and the next project may be a small or limited experience and not necessarily Dying Light 3 by name.
Until there is an official announcement from Techland, caution is warranted, especially since the series has already seen projects canceled, such as the recently revealed Dying Light: Hellrunners.
