Marvel Rivals launched its new update on November 27, which coincides with the game’s one-year anniversary, and with the start of Season 5, it seems that the development team has chosen to pump a large dose of new content, led by 18v18 Annihilation, the largest PvP encounter in the game’s history so far.
During the official presentation that revealed the update, Annihilation appeared as a large-scale Dominion battle that takes place on a new map called Grand Garden, and from the first scenes it seems that players will face real chaos as waves of heroes pile up from both sides and super hits and abilities turn into an opportunity to take down entire groups of opponents in one fell swoop.
The new mode completely changes the rhythm of the game with larger spaces, intense clashes, and more opportunities for coordination or confusion depending on the skill of the team.
The new update is not limited to the expanded mode, but introduces 4 new anniversary events as well as the return of Battle Pass Season 1 for those who missed it previously, the Black Friday sale, and a number of new items in the store.
From Gambit and Cloak & Dagger to Mister Fantastic and Jeff, the update includes a host of important fixes for many characters, including improving the behavior of abilities, fixing animation bugs, fixing collision issues, and restoring some effects that had disappeared after previous updates.
