IO Interactive has announced an unprecedented in-game collaboration for Hitman: World of Assassination as global rap star Eminem will be the focus of the upcoming Elusive Target mission, available for purchase from December 1-31.
Eminem appears in-game as a fellow agent of Agent 47, providing him with the intelligence briefing for the mission that aims to dismantle the twisted mind of Slim Shady, according to the official statement.
IO Interactive explains that Eminem’s global rise was tied to his iconic Slim Shady persona and that his last album, The Death of Slim Shady, tried to end that violent side, but his past still haunts him.
The mission takes place inside a medical facility in Hokkaido that has been completely remodeled as the Popsomp Hills Asylum, a surreal environment where the personalities of doctors, patients, and actors intermingle in a distorted sense of reality.
Players will find Eminem inside a fully equipped broadcast studio where he performs bizarre shows for staff and inmates, while the mission includes details from his world, such as a poisoned spaghetti sandwich.
The special package can be purchased for $5 and includes:
- A new suit.
- 4 Slim Shady-inspired items
- Special decorations for the player base
- A continuation of the Big Guest Series
Eminem’s appearance comes after other notable figures such as Bruce Lee have previously joined the game, reflecting the game’s trend of hosting cultural icons in innovative missions.
