A new trademark registration that could signal the return of the Control series to the forefront has surfaced, as the name CONTROL: Resonant has been spotted on the EUIPO website, which immediately piqued the interest of the gaming community, especially since the registration was done by Nordia Attorneys at Law, the law firm Remedy relies on for its trademark registrations.
The Control series launched in 2019 and quickly became one of Remedy’s flagship games thanks to its mysterious narrative style and supernatural atmosphere in Oldest House. Although there is no sequel yet, Remedy has expanded the world with FBC: Firebreak and connected the series more deeply to the Alan Wake universe.

The project may be a new part that continues the story of Jesse Fayden, especially since Remedy has previously confirmed its desire to develop an expanded sequel to the series. Remedy has also previously announced that it is exploring turning Control into a television project, and Resonant may be the official name of the work or a project similar to Firebreak, but with a larger budget and perhaps a new narrative focus.
The branding appeared a few weeks before The Game Awards 2025 on December 11, an event where Remedy has a strong history of huge announcements as Control debuted there, Alan Wake 2 shone strongly at previous ceremonies, and Sam Lake’s presence on stage almost annually makes expectations higher than usual.
Whatever the project, fans are excited to see any new expansion into Remedy’s vast and tangled universe.
