A few days ago, a report confirmed that the Firestorm mode of the Battlefield series will return under the new name Battlefield: RedSec with a surprise launch on October 28, but today new leaks from ModernWarzone reveal additional details about how this upcoming mode will work.
According to the source, RedSec will be limited to two modes at launch: Duos and Squads, meaning you’ll only play in teams of 2 or 4 players with no solo or five-player options.
Although this may frustrate some who prefer a solo challenge, the leak confirms that the decision is temporary and the number of game modes is expected to be expanded later in future updates, the source added that the total number of players will reach 100 players per match, which means 50 teams of duos or 25 teams of quads.
Since its release in October, Battlefield 6 has been a growing success and now EA is preparing for a new experience in the world of battle royale with its own concept and the new mode RedSec promises to redefine the style of large-scale military confrontations with the instant circle feature, which is a new innovation in the genre.
While the competition will be stiff against titles like Fortnite and Warzone, the excitement around Battlefield’s return to the scene seems to be on the rise.
Between the excitement and player curiosity, the launch of Battlefield: RedSec looks set to be one of the highlights of October 2025, but will the Duos and Squads modes be enough to satisfy Battlefield fans at first, or will players quickly demand the addition of a single-player mode?
