It was revealed today that Sad Cat Studios’ Replaced will support Arabic as one of its official options on Steam, which means that the game will offer subtitles for menus and text at launch, a move that has delighted many Arab gamers.
Replaced is a cinematic 2.5D game that offers a great mix of classic sci-fi and retro-futuristic atmosphere, in which the player plays as R.E.A.C.H. an artificial intelligence being who finds himself trapped inside a human body against his will, trying to survive and uncover the secrets of the fictional Phoenix City.
The game blends a cinematic platforming style inspired by ’90s games with modern high-quality pixel art and a fast-paced action combat system that relies on timing and precision.
Since its first reveal, Replaced has turned heads with its stunning art design that combines shaded realism and neon lighting to create a unique and memorable visual style, and has been described by many gamers as one of the most anticipated indie projects of 2026.
So far, the game has been confirmed for PC and Xbox Series X|S, and the PlayStation 5 or Switch version has not yet been officially announced, and as for the launch date, the developer only confirmed that the game is coming in 2026 without specifying a specific month or day yet.
Supporting the Arabic language in a game of this technical level is an important step towards making indie games more inclusive for players in the Arab region. Are you looking forward to trying Replaced when it comes out?
