Following the huge success of the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, EA and Battlefield Studios have announced the return of the Battlefield Labs initiative, which gives players the opportunity to participate in additional experimentation ahead of the full release in October 2025.
Battlefield Labs aims to foster communication with the community, with players directly involved in testing new features and helping to improve overall balance. The move comes after Battlefield 2042 was heavily criticized, which EA is trying to avoid by listening more to the public’s opinions.
According to an official update on the Battlefield Communicationspage, the new rounds of testing will allow players to:
– Experience a beta version of the Portal feature.
– Use the Server Browser in its new form.
– Participate in determining the official settings for Hardcore mode.
The team added that upcoming Battlefield Labs sessions may be held sporadically and at different times, with a focus on finalizing gameplay balance and final features before launch.
Players can register on the official website to express interest and join the Battlefield Labs sessions, giving them a chance to try out content that wasn’t available in the open beta.
With this move, it seems that EA is serious about delivering the best possible experience when Battlefield 6 launches, by working closely with players to ensure the success of the series once again.
