New reports have revealed that Battlefield: RedSec is the official name of the new mode in Battlefield 6, which replaces the Firestorm mode that failed to win over gamers years ago.
According to an exclusive report on the ModernWarzone page, RedSec will be released on October 28, 2025 for free across all platforms, and interestingly, EA will not publish any official presentation or announcement before the launch, which makes it a real Shadow Drop, although the published leaks made the event known in advance.
Battlefield 6 Battle Royale free-to-play mode will be known as Battlefield: RedSec and will be released on October 28 without any prior announcement – ModernWarzone
With RedSec, EA is clearly seeking a fresh start for the series’ competitive mode after Firestorm failed to attract players in Battlefield 5.
According to previous leaks, RedSec:
- An instant death circle system that adds new tension and strategy to battles.
- A multiplayer Battle Royale experience in the familiar Battlefield style of realistic weapons, vehicles, and destruction.
- Free availability independent of the base game.
Although no official announcement has been made yet, many players believe that the name RedSec carries a modern military-technical identity that is in line with the game’s futuristic atmosphere and gives the franchise a new chance to succeed beyond Firestorm’s previous reputation.
