EA and DICE have revealed new details about Battlefield 6’s story mode, which will feature 9 missions spanning 3 continents. The new information published by the BFBulletin account on the X platform confirmed that players will not go through these missions alone, but most of the time they will be accompanied by a full squad that can be commanded by orders.
During missions, players will be able to issue various commands to Dagger 13, such as using smoke for cover, summoning grenades, firing suppressive fire, flanking enemy positions, performing RPG strikes, and conducting reconnaissance and target acquisition. Even when the full squad is not present, at least one member will remain with the player throughout the mission.
Each squad member belongs to a different class, allowing for a variety of play styles, and the player won’t be limited to just one character, but will take on the roles of multiple Dagger 13 characters. The revival system is similar to that found in the multiplayer mode: when a player is knocked down, a squad member can revive them, and the player can save their companions by pulling them back into the fight.
With these additions, it seems that Battlefield 6’s story mode will not only be a traditional linear experience, but also a cinematic multiplayer experience, which could add a new layer of depth and tactics to the popular series.
