KRAFTON has revealed its new PUBG-derived project titled PUBG: Black Budget, a first-person extraction game that expands the world of PUBG into a new experience based on fighting, collecting loot and successfully withdrawing from the battlefield, this announcement comes after the recent boom in this type of game, the most famous of which are COD and Arc Raiders.
In addition to the official reveal, the company announced the launch of a closed alpha test next month, and registration is now open on Steam, and unlike most early tests, there will be no NDA agreement, giving participants complete freedom to post clips, share images, and play via live stream.
The test will take place over two consecutive weekends in December, with the first round starting December 12 at 12 p.m. KSA time and ending Sunday, December 14 at 11 a.m. The second round will take place a week later at approximately the same times
Participation will only be open to players in North America, Europe, and Asia. Participating players will have complete freedom to share their experiences without any legal or confidentiality restrictions.
The alpha test will focus on early game systems, combat speed and tempo, balancing the extraction system, player progression, and reward structure, and because the game is still under development, KRAFTON cautions that technical issues or ongoing changes may occur.
In addition to registering on Steam, players will be able to obtain keys via Twitch Drops and Chzzk Drops after the first round of testing.
Black Budget is a new step in the expansion of the PUBG brand and years after the success of Battle Royale, by entering the extraction category, PUBG joins a growing wave of the genre that has become the centerpiece of several major projects including the upcoming PvE mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
