Update on October 22: Treyarch has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is still slated for release on November 14, and there is no change to the launch date.
It looks like the wait may be shorter than expected for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 fans as growing rumors on social media suggest that the game may release on November 7 instead of the official date of November 14, 2025.
Although this news has yet to be confirmed by Activision, some credible community sources have begun to hint at indications of an earlier release window, however, details remain unconfirmed until an official statement from the company.
According to some well-known accounts in the Call of Duty community on the X platform, it is likely that the story mode may be released a week before the full release, a move that Activision has used in previous releases to allow players to finish the story before moving on to the multiplayer mode.
These rumors come shortly after the end of the Black Ops 7 beta, which initially faced some cheating issues before Activision and the RICOCHET team announced that the new anti-cheat systems were able to deal with them quickly and effectively.
At the time of writing this report, Activision has not issued any official comment confirming or denying the rumors, making talk of an early launch merely community speculation, however, the scenario remains logical given the company’s history of splitting the launch between the different phases of the game.
Separately, Sledgehammer co-founder Glen Schofield recently stirred controversy with his statements about the decline in the quality of Call of Duty games since he left the series years ago, noting that some recent releases lack the spirit of the original series.
