EA and DICE decided to add a touch of humor to the new content in Battlefield 6 through one of the most famous references in television history. Players noticed a pizza lying on the roof of one of the houses in the Eastwood map in a clear and direct reference to the famous scene in Breaking Bad.
The new Eastwood map presents a poor neighborhood with alleys, small houses and huge destructible areas, making it one of the most dynamic maps in Battlefield 6 so far, but the surprise came from one of the houses, where a Reddit user discovered a whole pizza lying on the roof, and as soon as he saw it, Breaking Bad fans immediately recognized the reference.
The reference goes back to Breaking Bad Season 3 Episode 2 when Walter White tried to visit his family carrying a huge pizza after an argument with his wife, Walter got angry and threw the pizza box towards the garage door, but the pizza came out of the box and flew to settle on the roof in a shot that became one of the most famous moments of the series.
The funny thing is that this moment was completely unplanned, as actor Bryan Cranston managed to throw the pizza on the roof on the first try, making the scene iconic and later transferred to internet culture and gaming.
Battlefield 6 isn’t the first game to pay homage to this scene, but it’s certainly one of the most fun and appropriate references to the map’s atmosphere, especially with Eastwood’s fine detail.
The original scene is a timeless moment in one of the greatest TV series of all time and seeing it in BF6 adds a touch of humor amidst the intense combat.
