Well-known leaker TheGhostOfHope has made some new claims about the future of the Call of Duty series, specifically the 2027 release rumored to be developed by Sledgehammer Games, pointing to drastic changes to gameplay and movement systems.
According to TheGhostOfHope, the zombie mode is not currently planned to return in the 2027 version, and he explained that Activision may want to avoid exhausting the Treyarch team after working on two consecutive games and reduce the saturation of zombie content to maintain enthusiasm for the 2028 version.
The leaker noted that this decision – if true – is intended to create more momentum for the return of Zombies later on.
The leaks also indicate the adoption of Omnimovement, but without tactical running, and according to the leaker, the system may be close to the Black Ops 6 version with the removal of some elements such as wall jumping
Despite the talk of removal, there are classic elements that may return, including Get High and the return of the Pick 10 system, which the leaker described as a big discussion currently taking place within the team.
This information should be treated with caution, especially since there is no official confirmation from Activision or Sledgehammer Games, and some of TheGhostOfHope’s previous claims, such as the Modern Warfare 4 leaks, have been questioned by Infinity Ward.
Thus, all these details remain within the framework of speculation until the official announcement.
