During the Dev Talk session with Treyarch, Activision revealed that two of Black Ops 2’s most popular maps will officially return in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 1:
- Standoff
- Meltdown
Both maps will receive completely remastered versions to match the modern feel of the new installment.
The Standoff map previously appeared in Black Ops: Cold War in Season 3, where it was reused in the team and zombie modes, while Meltdown has not appeared since 2012 in Black Ops 2, making its return a special event for fans of the classic series.
According to the revealed roadmap, Season 1 will include the following:
- 7 new multiplayer maps, including Meltdown and Standoff
- 3 zombie mode maps, including 2 Survival maps
- More additional content later in the season
Treyarch describes Season 1 as the biggest in the series’ history, reuniting Black Ops 2 fans with old memories with modernized gameplay and improved graphics.
Black Ops 7 releases globally on November 14, 2025 with a greater focus on multiplayer modes and a story that brings back the iconic Mason family from Black Ops 2.
