Fairgame continues to be one of the most controversial projects in PlayStation’s lineup of service titles. After a cancellation rumor a few weeks ago that was quickly denied, its name has resurfaced, but this time due to a new departure from the development team.
As discovered by a Reddituser, Daniel Drapeau, Fairgame director at Haven Studios, has left his position to join WB Games Montreal as creative director. The move comes just 3 months after founder Jade Raymond left the studio, raising further concerns about the stability of the project.

Haven was founded in 2021 specifically to develop Fairgame, and the game was first revealed in 2023, but since its premiere no concrete details about gameplay or development progress have been shared. As the leadership departures continued, players grew increasingly concerned about the fate of the game.
On discussion boards, some likened the director’s move to “out of the frying pan and into the fire,” referring to WB Games Montreal’s track record that included games like Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad, both of which fell short of expectations. Others expressed sarcasm: “He escaped the Titanic only to find himself on the OceanGate.”
Although PlayStation has not announced any change in Fairgame’s plans so far, the lack of news, coupled with the departure of key founders, puts the project under a microscope of doubt. The game is still officially in existence, but the question the gaming community is asking is: Will Fairgame actually see the light of day or is this PlayStation project on its way to being canceled?
