Square Enix has officially announced via the Final Fantasy VII X account that the Intergrade version of the popular remake will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 during the fourth quarter of 2025, a long-awaited move for fans of the series.
The game will run on the new console at a steady 30 frames per second with crisp graphics and smooth performance, proving that the Switch 2 is capable of accommodating massive JRPGs, which was confirmed by director Naoki Hamaguchi in May 2025 when he stated that the console has enough power to run the trilogy.
It is unlikely to be limited to Intergrade only, as the second installment Rebirth was a huge success on other platforms, making the possibility of its subsequent release on Switch 2 almost certain, followed by the third and final installment to complete the full experience.
An exact date has yet to be determined, but a Q4 2025 release means the game could be one of the highlights of the holiday season on the console, making Christmas even more magical with Midgar’s Lifestream touch.
