The Battlefield Labs tests have seen a new return of leaks, this time with the first appearance of the redesigned Operation Firestorm map in Battlefield 6, following the great success of the open beta test.
The Operation Firestorm map first appeared in Battlefield 3, and was known for the massive aerial battles that the series is known for. Now, the map returns in Battlefield 6 with a new generation of graphics and physics, enhancing the aerial combat element and bringing back the atmosphere of the beloved classics.
So far, Operation Firestorm is the only confirmed classic map by name, but according to leaks, there are plans to bring back other maps such as the much-loved Operation Metro.
The developers confirmed that Battlefield 6 was the most successful beta in the series’ history, with stats including:
- 420 million games played.
- More than 92 million hours of gameplay.
- Nearly 5 billion enemy kills.
- More than 30 million revivals between players.
Battlefield 6 releases globally on October 10, 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with promises of a deeper multiplayer experience than ever before, and additional support via Battlefield Portal including a server browser.
