Jack Leary, an engineer, responds to a routine alarm only to find himself arriving at the remote and abandoned Fort Solis base amidst a disturbing silence and the complete absence of crew members. With a dangerous storm approaching, Jack is forced to enter the base in an attempt to communicate and understand what happened. As the night progresses, events begin to spiral out of control and the mystery of the crew’s disappearance unfolds as the chances of escape narrow until the morning dawns.
Utilizing the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5, Fort Solis aims to deliver a high-definition visual and narrative experience focused on fully immersing the player in the base and its characters during one long and tense night.
The experience is enhanced by strong acting performances from Roger Clark, Troy Baker and Julia Brown as the game conveys fear, tension and empathy throughout its various chapters.
Additional narrative elements, including audio recordings, CCTV footage, and video footage documented by crew members, reveal what happened before and possibly after the night the alarm went off inside the base and connect the past and present in a gradual and mysterious way.
The base is designed both above and below the Martian surface and features a variety of locations including the isolated, storm-prone surface, dark service tunnels, and base operating departments such as Engineering, Medical, and Communications. As the story progresses, the player can return to earlier locations for deeper context or become silent witnesses to the fate Jack faces with each passing hour.
