During Ghost of Yotei’s final trailer finale at Gamescom 2025, Sucker Punch announced the return of the free-to-play co-op mode Legends, which was a hit in Ghost of Tsushima.
Legends debuted with Ghost of Tsushima post-launch and introduced an out-of-the-box combat arena where 4 resurrected warriors fight fierce battles against demonic forces. The success of the mode helped revitalize the game’s popularity and increase its player base.
In Ghost of Yotei, Legends will return with the same four-player cooperative experience, but with new content to match the atmosphere of the upcoming release, and although the presentation did not show any gameplay footage, the official announcement confirmed that the game will be released for free to everyone in 2026.
Ghost of Yotei is set to release on October 3, 2025 on PlayStation 5, and with it, more details about Legends will become clear before its release the following year.
The return of co-op means that fans of the series can look forward to an epic group experience that complements the solo adventure and rekindles the collective enthusiasm that characterized Tsushima.
