After giving players enough time to finish Ghost of Yotei, Sucker Punch is back with a major update that reignites the challenge with the addition of New Game+ on November 24, offering an all-new experience for those who have finished the first journey and want a deeper, more challenging encounter.
Ghost of Yotei’s New Game+ works in the same way as other modes in the genre: after finishing the main story, the player can start the game all over again, retaining all previously acquired abilities, equipment, and upgrades, and extending to a higher difficulty level for samurai masters and those looking for a real challenge.
The official PlayStation Blog confirmed that the update is not only a replayable experience, but also introduces important new elements, most notably:
- Ghost Flowers currency, which is used at a special vendor that offers a wide range of cosmetic items and side content.
- A new layer of upgrades including armor and weapons, giving players a strong reason to continue enhancing their gameplay.
- Story content replayability so that key missions can be revisited at the new power level.
- Improved accessibility features such as button remapping and expanded shooting mode options.
In addition to the expanded content, 2 new Troves are added to the Troves roster. While the original game’s roster was generous, this update gives players an additional challenge to complete their collection.
New Game+ is a major boost to Ghost of Yotei’s lifespan as it gives players a chance to rediscover the game in a more in-depth way, with content geared towards professionals and those interested in collecting full content and tokens.
