Sucker Punch has officially announced that Ghost of Yotei has gone gold, meaning that core development is complete and the game is fully ready for release on October 2, 2025 on PlayStation 5.
The studio shared the news via an official post that read:
“We’re extremely excited to have reached this point, and we can’t wait for players to experience the beauty of Ezo on October 2nd.
Going gold means the likelihood of a delay is virtually nil, although any unforeseen circumstances could change that.
Available versions of the game:
– Standard Edition: $70.
– Deluxe Edition: Priced at $80 and includes additional content such as Snake’s armor, several special swords, early traveler maps, a special spell, a digital armor tincture, and a horse with a fancy saddle.
For now, the game is a PS5 exclusive. Although Sony has been more open to releasing its games later on PC, there is no official confirmation regarding a PC or Xbox version. For comparison, Ghost of Tsushima was first released on PlayStation 4 in 2020, then on PlayStation 5 in 2021, and didn’t arrive on PC until May 2024, while remaining absent from Xbox until now.
With the great success of the first part, expectations are very high that Ghost of Yotei will be one of the highlights of the year, especially with its open-ended gameplay and narrative depth.
