After months of player complaints about performance, Arrowhead has officially announced when the highly anticipated performance update for Helldivers 2 will arrive in mid-October.
In a lengthy post on Reddit, the developers explained that they have followed up on all player feedback about performance issues and audio dropouts.
The new update will include fixes for sudden crashes, improve stability, minor improvements to overall performance, address the issue of weapons and steps dropping during missions, and remove the cave landing mechanic.
The studio emphasized that these fixes will not address all performance issues, as some require long-term development plans and cannot be solved with a quick update, but the update is a first step in improving the experience. The team also promised to be more transparent by sharing details of the processes and causes of the current issues, with a clearer roadmap to follow in the coming weeks.
Helldivers 2 has recently received several additions such as the Hiveworlds update and Dust Devils Warbond, but performance issues have been the weakest point of the community, and today’s announcement may give players a boost of hope that the experience will improve soon.
