New information about Horizon Steel Frontiers emerged during a recent interview with the development team published on RuliWeb to confirm that this team is the most motivated within NCSoft to employ artificial intelligence in various stages of work on the game, and it seems that the new project relies on technology in a fundamental way, whether in building characters, improving gameplay, or even in internal production processes.
According to the statements, AI characters are being tested that can cooperate with the player or fight alongside him in joint battles, and the team uses AI algorithms to adjust the optimal number of players in different activities instead of relying on traditional player density to provide a more balanced and dynamic experience.
Inside the company, NCSoft confirmed that AI is also used to support the programming, drawing and production departments, noting that the applied technologies are already being integrated into the development process and will be gradually presented in the future, and the company added that upcoming games, especially Aion 2, will show a clear increase in the level of reliance on artificial intelligence.
On the other hand, the developers addressed the features of the game’s world, where the events take place in a region called Deadlands, which is inspired by the environments of Arizona and Mexico and tends to present themes related to survival and hope, and the basic concept of the game is based on the pleasure of facing huge machines with the expansion of this element to become the main experience in the MMORPG mode.
The game includes a system that allows for disassembly and teamwork between players, as well as the ability to extract weapons from robotic monsters and mount them on custom vehicles. The project will also preserve the tribal roots of the Horizon universe with extensive customization options including appearance, makeup, and general appearance details.
