For years, Ancient Egypt has been one of the civilizations gamers have wished the God of War series would visit, and it seems that this dream is back on the forefront after Christopher Judge, the legendary voice of Kryptos, hinted at it while attending the MCM London Comic Con.
When asked what civilization he would like to visit if there were a new installment of the series, Judge replied with a smile:
“Since I’ve become known for my role in Stargate, going to Egypt would complete the circle for me personally, but whatever the decision, there’s no doubt that the next game will be fantastic with whatever mythology is being told.
Although he tried to quickly retract his statement, his words were enough to ignite a huge wave of excitement and speculation among fans of the series, especially with many previous leaks hinting that ancient Egypt was one of the potential destinations before choosing Norse mythology in God of War: Ragnarök.
Moving to Egypt means opening the door to a world full of mysterious mythology and powerful gods like Ra, Anubis, and Isis along with pyramids, temples, and legendary tombs that will provide the perfect backdrop for a new epic of Kryptos’ wrath.
The rich environment of history and mystery could give the game a whole new breath of fresh air, and make it more diverse than ever before.
So far, no new game in the series has been officially confirmed, and all we have are speculations and hints based on Christopher Judge’s statements and old leaks, but if it does happen, we could be in for the greatest confrontation between the god of war and the gods of the pharaohs
