Lies of P has had an exceptional year, with its expansion Overture taking home the Best Expansion of 2025 award at the Golden Joystick Awards, an achievement that reflects the critical and community success of the game since its launch. During the ceremony, director Choi Ji-won took the opportunity to talk about the future of the team and their next project.
Speaking with GamesRadar+, Choi explained that the Overture expansion was not treated within the studio as a mere expansion, but more like a completely new project or almost a direct sequel thanks to the amount of new content and the substantial changes it brought.
When discussing the upcoming game, Choi emphasized that players can expect as much fun as we can have within the game and added that Round8 and Neowiz are working hard on the new project, promising: We won’t let players down.
Despite the excitement of the director’s statement, he did not reveal the nature of the next project, whether it is a sequel to Lies of P or an entirely new title set in a different universe.
This optimism comes at a time when Neowiz announced that sales of the game and its expansion have exceeded 3 million copies, and a previous post revealed that the next installment may be heading towards a larger and more ambitious open world.
Players are certainly eager to see what comes after one of the best Souls game surprises in recent years.
