In a pleasant surprise for RPG fans, UltiZero Games announced that Lost Soul Aside will be released tomorrow, August 29, 2025, with a free demo that gives players a chance to experience the fast-paced combat system and epic encounters before purchasing the full version.
The demo only features two bosses, Rose Queen and Holy Knight Commander Victor, making it a short but sufficient experience to test the gameplay. However, players will not be able to transfer save data from the demo to the full version, meaning battles will have to be replayed upon purchase.
For now, the demo is only available on PlayStation 5, with some regions such as Australia, Japan, and New Zealand already having it. The rest of the regions will get it starting tomorrow, with launch timing varying by region. A demo version for PC or Steam has yet to be announced.
Lost Soul Aside has been in development for more than 10 years, beginning as a solo project by Final Fantasy-inspired developer Yang Bing. Later, the game received PlayStation’s support to turn into a massive project under UltiZero Games, and is now one of the platform’s most notable releases of 2025.
The game revolves around Kaser, an orphan who travels through different worlds and dimensions with the mysterious Arena to save his sister. The story is a mix of fantasy and character drama, with a fast-paced, action-oriented fighting style reminiscent of classic Japanese games.
