After many rumors, it looks like Marvel Rivals is finally coming to the PlayStation 4. The authoritative PlayStation Game Size account on the X platform has revealed that a new update number 01.01 for the PlayStation 4 version of the game has surfaced, which is the clearest indication yet that the last-gen version is on the way.
The game, developed by NetEase Games, has been a huge success since its release, combining Overwatch-like gameplay with Marvel’s own take on the superhero genre, making it one of the hottest free-to-play shooters of 2025.
The launch of the PlayStation 4 version would be great news for many gamers who haven’t yet made the jump to the new generation, and could open the door to a potential Xbox One version as well. Despite performance concerns on older consoles, the move to release the game on PS4 could significantly expand the game’s fan base.
So far, NetEase has not made any official announcement about a release date or additional details, but the appearance of the update is a strong indication that an official announcement is very close.
