Since the launch of Marvel Rivals in December 2024, the ranked play system has been widely criticized by players, especially in the early days of each new season, as highly ranked players are relegated to lower levels excessively, creating an imbalance in matches.
In the latest video from the Dev Vision series, which precedes the launch of Season 4 scheduled for September 12, 2025, the development team confirmed that they are already working on introducing a preliminary matches feature. This feature will more accurately determine a player’s level at the start of new seasons, improving the competitive experience.
The developers explained that the new system is complex and needs more time for development and testing and will not be ready for Season 4, but the team is working to make it available as soon as possible and is likely to be introduced with Season 5 in November 2025.
The importance of the feature lies in reducing imbalances in the early days of seasons, giving new players a fair chance while maintaining the levels of the pros, and improving the competitive experience and making it fairer from the start.
