During Minecraft Live 2025, Mojang Studios announced new updates coming to Minecraft this year, including visual improvements and the introduction of new creatures.
These graphical improvements aim to enhance the player experience by adding directional lighting, volumetric fog, improved reflections, and dynamic shadows. These improvements will be available first on compatible Bedrock Edition devices, with plans to later release them on the Java Edition.
A new creature that players can tame is called Happy Ghast, which can be used to fly in the game world. To obtain this creature, players must find Dried Ghast in the Nether and bring it to the natural world to rehydrate it, which produces a Ghastling. The Ghast grows into Happy Ghast. It can carry up to four players and facilitates the construction of tall structures in Survival Mode.
These additions are expected to significantly improve the gameplay experience, while maintaining the unique character of Minecraft.
