Bloober Team has officially announced that survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn will receive a new difficulty option called Temporal Diver Mode, scheduled for release in 2026.
The game, which was released last September, offered a third-person shooter experience that blends a strong horror atmosphere and distinctive storytelling with a high level of challenge, and despite widespread praise for the design and identity, some players complained that the difficulty level is too high, especially for those who want to focus on the story without engaging in a harsh experience intended for veteran players only.
The announcement of the new difficulty mode came through a video posted by Bloober Team on its official YouTube channel, which was presented in a sarcastic and cinematic style, where calls arrive at the studio’s headquarters asking to lower the difficulty or add an easy mode that allows the narrative to be enjoyed without fatigue.
At the end of the video, the developers addressed players directly, emphasizing that Cronos: The New Dawn was originally designed to be a game that challenges players, but at the same time they listened to community feedback. The team explained that there is a segment of players who want to explore the world and story at a slower pace without the pressure of difficult encounters or harsh punishments.
For this reason, the studio is currently developing Temporal Diver Mode, a lighter difficulty mode that aims to expand the player base while maintaining the game’s atmosphere and overall identity, and is scheduled for release in early 2026.
This decision is a remarkable move by Bloober Team that reflects a balance between maintaining the challenge that characterizes survival horror games and making the experience accessible to a wider range of players who prefer story and atmosphere over high difficulty.
