Although only a few days have passed since the release of the critically acclaimed Battlefield 6, it seems that EA does not intend to stop here, according to new leaks obtained by Insider Gaming, there are 6 new game modes currently in development that have been discovered within the game’s multiplayer files.
The leaked data contained the following lines:
- Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Raid/Mode/Mode/MUT_Raid
- Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Payload/Mode/MUT_Payload
- Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Sabotage/Mode/MUT_Sabotage
- Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/SquadShootout/Mode/MUT_SquadShootout
- Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Strikepoint/Mode/MUT_Strikepoint
- Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/TankHunt/Mode/MUT_TankHunt
Glacier is the internal name used to refer to Battlefield 6 while MP represents the multiplayer mode. According to the files, the new modes have the following names:
- Raid
- Payload
- Sabotage
- Squad Shootout
- Strikepoint
- Tank Hunt
Of these modes, two have been officially confirmed so far, namely Strikepoint, which will be released on October 28 in conjunction with the launch of Season 1: Rogue Ops, and Sabotage, which will arrive on November 18 as part of Season 1: California Resistance, while other modes such as Raid, Payload and Tank Hunt have not yet been announced, but they are already included in the game files, which suggests that they are under development in preparation for the upcoming seasons.
It is clear that EA and DICE are taking a strategic approach to supporting Battlefield 6 with expanded content throughout the year, which brings to mind the way Battlefield 1 was previously updated via successive seasonal expansions, and although the details of the new modes are still vague, the presence of modes such as Raid and Tank Hunt suggests the return of cooperative and tactical modes that players have missed in recent parts.
