During the Xbox Partner Preview event, Tides of Annihilation stole the show with a new demo titled Break the Mirror from Chinese studio Eclipse Glow Games, which is developing the massive project mixed with mythology and hardcore action game elements.
Tides of Annihilation is set in a strange version of a ruined London where mythology intersects with a disjointed reality and encounters inspired by Arturian stories but from an entirely new perspective. The game is clearly aimed at fans of games like Elden Ring, Lords of the Fallen and WUCHANG, offering close-ups, challenging engagements and bosses with complex combat mechanics.
According to the developer’s statement:
We’re still considering the difficulty level, but we won’t make the experience unfairly painful or long. We will provide strategies for those who don’t favor extreme combat challenges.
It’s a statement that reassures new players without upsetting Souls fans.
Lead game producer Kun Fu explained their vision for the world:
“We have reimagined the Arthurian legend in a story where courage, loyalty and heroism intersect with a world that is both familiar and strange. What you’ve seen is just the beginning of Gondolin’s journey.
The studio confirmed that the game will support Xbox Play Anywhere, which means that buyers of the Xbox version will also get the PC version for the same price, a clear indication of the strong partnership with Xbox.
