Blizzard hasannounced that Overwatch 2 will feature a special collaboration with Atlus’ popular Persona 5 series, starting today, September 16.
The collaboration will add a range of special costumes inspired by the popular Persona 5 characters, with Overwatch 2 heroes taking on the roles of the Phantom Thieves:
- Wuyang as Joker
- Mercy as Panther
- Genji as Skull
- Lifeweaver as Fox
- D.Va as Queen
The costumes are almost identical to the original Persona 5 designs, with touches that maintain the identity of Overwatch’s heroes. One of the most notable transformations is Wuyang, the game’s newest character, who looks amazing in his Joker costume, especially with his water magic-based fighting style.
The official poster for the collaboration was created by Shigenori Soejima, a character designer for the Persona series who won Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2025 for his work on Metaphor: ReFantazio.
This collaboration is part of a series of partnerships Overwatch 2 has been seeing lately, aimed at expanding the player base and building excitement in anticipation of the official reveal of Persona 6.
