Promoting creative diversity and showcasing talent from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, PlayStation has announced the first batch of games for the MENA Hero Project, a program that aims to support local developers and spread their games globally.
Red Bandits (Saudi Arabia – Team Agenda)
A fast-paced, heist-centric action game in which Stutt leads a gang resisting an oppressive imperial system in a futuristic world.
Enci’s Solution (UAE – Dark Emerald)
A 2.5D platformer with stunning hand-drawn graphics, Enci’s Solution tells the story of Ji’we, a prospector who meets an encyclopedic robot named Enci, and together they embark on an adventure full of puzzles and immersive worlds.
The Perfect Run (Tunisia – Lanterns Studios)
An action-adventure RPG in which the player controls Quicksave, a hero capable of altering the past and reshaping the present and future through time loops and exciting battles.
A Cat’s Manor (Bahrain – Happiest Dark Corner)
An adventure and puzzle game with a horror vibe that starts with an amnesiac character waking up in a mysterious mansion full of scary secrets, where you have to solve puzzles and uncover the truth about the strange family.
The MENA Hero Project is part of PlayStation’s global initiatives (along with Hero Project in China and India) and offers developers financial and technical support, mentorship from industry experts, and the opportunity to publish their games on PlayStation 5 and PC and reach a global audience.
With this move, PlayStation is opening the door for developers in the region to create games with a localized touch that bring stories from the Middle East and North Africa to the world.
