Pocketpair has announced that Palworld will officially leave Early Access in 2026, coinciding with the release of Update 1.0, which the team described as a milestone in the game’s history.
In a video message, the studio’s director of communications and publishing John Buckley explained that 2025 will be relatively quieter compared to last year, with plans to release a winter update before the end of the year, but it won’t be as big as the Feybreak update released in December 2024. However, Buckley noted that there are some surprises in the pipeline.
Buckley admitted that Palworld still suffers from many technical bugs and issues, emphasizing that the team prefers to take the time to address them before releasing the full version. He added:
“Investing the time to fix current issues will ultimately lead to a better, more complete game.
This update comes as the controversial case is still ongoing, with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company suing Pocketpair for intellectual property infringement. While Nintendo has recently been busy acquiring a series of patents that some legal experts have described as controversial, the studio is preparing to defend itself in court while reaffirming its commitment to continue developing Palworld.
