On December 2, Helldivers 2 will receive one of its most notable paid additions of the year as Arrowhead announced a new Premium Warbond called Python Commandos, a pack that includes a slew of heavy weapons, deadly Stratagems, new armor, robes, and long-awaited customizations. This release continues the series of previous Warbonds like ODST and Dust Devils but introduces what many have considered the “most requested weapon” since the game’s release.
The pack offers one weapon, but it is by far the most prominent: The M-1000 Maxigun is a massive Minigun with unprecedented firepower and ammo capacity, designed to be a true mass suppression tool suitable for clearing open fronts and dealing with hordes of Terminids and heavy mechs.
The Minigun is accompanied by a new Stratagems set:
- A customized AX/FLAM-75 “Guard Dog” Hot Dog drone with a flamethrower that accompanies the player and covers his surroundings with freedom fire.
- The CQC-9 Defoliation Tool combat chainsaw, capable of literally cutting a path through trees and opponents.
- The third is the AR/GL-21 One-Two, a combination assault rifle and grenade launcher that looks like two weapons in one, making the player a mobile firepower.
Python Commandos introduces two new armors, the RS-20 Constrictor, a light suit inspired by the National Gladiators Association, and the RS-40 Best of Prey, a heavy armor inspired by Hilldiver legend Ronald Mambo.
Both armors have Passive Rock Solid, which reduces the susceptibility to staggering and falling, which is vital in close engagements.
Robes include Foe Rent Asunder for the shredded character and Mark of the Constrictor for fighters who choke out chaos wherever it is found.
The pack adds the Front-Leaning Rest Position which allows the player to lie down and perform twenty repetitions at any given time in one of the most consistent emotes in the spirit of Super Earth’s robotic army. The pack also provides Chameleon Camo for vehicles, suits and capsules.
Helldivers 2 continues to expand its paid content without affecting the game’s balance, as Python Commandos comes to offer content that combines pure power with Arrowhead’s usual satirical nature, and with the upcoming plans that the developers recently talked about, it seems that the game is preparing for a new expansion phase in 2026.
