In a new twist in Rockstar’s series of surprise announcements, the company revealed that Red Dead Redemption will be available to play via the PlayStation Plus catalog starting December 2, 2025, just hours after the ESRB ratings for the next-gen versions came out along with the announcement of the game’s release on mobile phones through Netflix.
According to a statement posted on Rockstar’s official blog, the game will see a strong return this year across a large number of platforms, as it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, iOS, Android via Netflix, and within GTA+ through the game library
Rockstar confirmed that the new versions have been developed in collaboration with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games to deliver improved performance and higher graphical quality that takes advantage of the power of new-generation hardware.
The game returns with its famous events that take place immediately after the story of Red Dead Redemption 2, where players assume the role of John Marston on a journey to settle past scores and hunt down his former gang members. The version also includes the full Undead Nightmare add-on, which turns the world into a zombie nightmare and offers a standalone survival-horror experience.
This announcement comes after Red Dead Redemption 2 became the fourth best-selling game in history with more than 79 million copies sold as Rockstar continues to expand the series’ presence across platforms.
