Well-known leaker Dusk Golem (one of the most prominent sources of Resident Evil leaks) has returned to confirm that Resident Evil Requiem will not only be exclusive to current-gen consoles, but will also be released on PlayStation 4 and also on Switch 2.
In a social mediapost, Dusk Golem said that he spoke with 5 different sources in the past weeks that confirmed this information. He added:
Resident Evil Requiem is coming to PS4 and Switch 2. It may be a technically different version like we saw in the Xbox 360/PS3 and Wii/PS2 era. Some features like Ray Tracing will still be exclusive to the newer platforms, but if the question is: Will it be released on these consoles? The answer is almost certainly yes.
The PlayStation 4 version has generated a lot of controversy, with some arguing that it’s time to move on from the older generation, especially with talk of PlayStation 6 on the horizon.
On the other hand, the Switch 2 version was received with great enthusiasm, especially after Capcom’s president previously confirmed that the price of the PS5 is a barrier for some gamers, while the Switch 2’s reception was above expectations.
Resident Evil Requiem was officially revealed in June during Summer Game Fest 2025 and the first demos wowed audiences with high quality graphics and the series’ usual terrifying atmosphere.
The game is expected to be one of the highlights of 2026.
