In a groundbreaking move announced today , Sphera, a companyspecialized in gaming solutions and technologies, has signed astrategic agreement with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) to start operating online gaming servers in Saudi Arabia, specifically in Riyadh, with an aspiration to soon expand it to Jeddah.
The use of servers within the Kingdom significantly reduces the connection time, so that some cases are possible at only 6 milliseconds, achieving a near-instantaneous gaming experience.
Supporting different games within the Kingdom will be more efficient and stable, especially in competitive regions such as the Middle East.
Collaboration with KACST enhances opportunities to develop the local gaming environment and opens doors to hosting regional and international tournaments.
The move comes as the Kingdom is gearing up for the eSports World Cup, making it an ideal time to launch a robust infrastructure that effectively supports the competitive gaming industry.
