While EA Skate has been making headlines lately, a new competitor with a completely different theme, Skate Story by Devolver Digital, has been officially announced to join PlayStation Plus Xtra and Premium on December 8, 2025, from day one of its launch.

Skate Story offers an unconventional skateboarding experience across huge open spaces, fast narrow lanes, dangerous jumps over obstacles, glass gates and bridges, as well as a mission and challenge system that relies on agility and chain building.
The game includes unique boss battles where real damage to the bosses can only be done by skating at high speed and executing complex moves to build a combo and then pressing the square button in the air to perform a crushing Stomp, and the higher the combo level, the more damage.
An innovative combat style that combines the artistic rhythm of skateboarding with a dynamic combat system.
Skate Story has a dedicated hub called Soul Space, which is the hub for transitioning between chapters, the main customization area, and a space where the player can modify their skateboard; customizations require Soul Coin, which is collected exclusively by performing moves and skills.
