In a new interview, Yale Miller, senior director of production at Treyarch, revealed that the development team decided to reject a number of collaborations with big brands that were intended for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
Miller explained that some of these collaborations were exciting but the team felt they didn’t align with the game’s identity:
“There were opportunities that were ready, but after discussions we simply said: No. We’re not going to do that because it doesn’t fit Black Ops.
Miller did not mention the names of the brands or collaborations that were canceled, only emphasizing that the priority is what feels like a part of Black Ops.
Miller emphasized that the goal is not necessarily to provide realistic skins, but skins that fit the atmosphere of the series and gave the example of the T.E.D.D. character, which, while not realistic, was seen by players as a perfect fit for the Black Ops identity.
It is noteworthy that the Vault Edition of Black Ops 7 will include this housing with some modifications based on player feedback.
Launch date is November 14, 2025 on Beta starting October 2 for pre-orders and opening to everyone on October 5.
