Indie developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone announced his continued support for Stardew Valley with a new 1.7 update in an official social media post accompanied by a humorous illustration. Despite the surprise announcement, Barone emphasized that there is no release date or time estimate for the update.

Since its release in 2016, Stardew Valley has become one of the most successful and best-selling indie games in the world, achieving more than half a million reviews on Steam with a 98% positive rating to become the highest rated game in the platform’s history, surpassing Portal 2 after 14 years of holding the top spot.
The latest update (1.6), released more than a year ago, introduced massive content such as new festivals, additional items, and various visual improvements across all platforms.
ConcernedApe has yet to reveal the details of the new update, but given his history with the game, it is expected to bring rich content that meets the expectations of the player community. While he has been busy developing his new game Haunted Chocolatier, his continued support for Stardew Valley emphasizes his commitment to this legendary project.
The question remains: will the 1.7 update be a minor improvement or a massive expansion that brings the game back to the forefront?
