After the great success of Stellar Blade since its launch in 2024, it seems that Shift Up is preparing to take an important expansion step with Part 2, according to a new recruitment announcement posted on the studio’s official Korean website, Stellar Blade 2 is currently in development and the company aims to release it on multiple platforms, unlike Part 1, which was exclusive to PlayStation at launch.
In the recruitment announcement, Shift Up stated that it is expanding the team to develop Stellar Blade 2 and that the goal is to provide a larger and more advanced action experience for the next generation of devices, and most importantly, the announcement confirms the intention to release the game on different platforms, including other devices besides PlayStation and PC.
Part 1 of Stellar Blade was exclusive to PlayStation 5 and only recently received a PC version, but with this new direction, the chances of the game coming to Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 increase, especially since many rumors during the past months talked about the existence of an Xbox version in preparation without an official announcement until now.
Stellar Blade has been such a critical and critical success, both in terms of impressive graphics, fast-paced combat, and strong fan support despite the controversy over the design of heroine Eve, that Shift Up has confirmed since last year that more content and sequels are on the way before 2027.
The move to go multi-platform indicates the studio’s desire to expand the fan base globally and capitalize on the immense popularity of Part 1.
