Circana data showed that the Nintendo Switch 2 maintained its lead in console sales in the U.S. for the second consecutive month during July 2025, both in terms of units and total revenue.
– Sales of the console have surpassed 2 million units as of August 2.
– Now achieving 75% of the Switch’s first-generation sales pace over the same time period.
– Strongly contributed to a 21% year-over-year increase in hardware market revenue, reaching $384 million in July alone.
– Total year-to-date market revenue is up 18% to $2.467 billion vs. $2.09 billion in 2024.
The PlayStation 5 saw a 47% year-over-year decline in sales and the Xbox Series continued to decline even further with a 69% year-over-year decline.
Accessory sales fell 8% in July to $187 million and total sales since the start of 2025 are down 6% compared to 2024.
Despite the overall decline, the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller topped the accessories list, becoming the best-selling console in 2025.
With this, the Switch 2 continues to cement its position as the most successful console launch in the US market recently, with the expectation that it will maintain its momentum into the holiday season.
